Agustin Garcia-Hernandez

The family of Agustin Garcia-Hernandez of Detroit is saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the age of 82 years.

Agustin was born on June 4, 1940 in Mexico. It was there he met his beloved wife, Olivia. They spent 29 wonderful years together. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his family that will miss him dearly.  Loving father of Elpidio, Maria, Martina, Carmen, Sofia, and Victoria.  Proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Agustin was known for his fun personality. He is remembered by his family and friends as a big jokester who loved to tease. Although he liked to have fun, Agustin also wanted to make sure his family followed the right path. His guidance and advice demonstrated the deep love and care he had for his family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 1:00 - 8:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home.

Instate will be on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

Agustin will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery following mass.

La familia de Agustín García-Hernández, residente de Detroit, se entristece al anunciar su fallecimiento el miércoles 19 de abril de 2023 a la edad de 82 años.

Agustín nació el 04 de junio de 1940 en México. Fue allí donde conoció a su amada esposa, Olivia. Pasaron 29 maravillosos años juntos. Deja un hermoso legado a través de su familia que lo echará mucho de menos. Amoroso padre de Elpidio, María, Martina, Carmen, Sofía y Victoria. Orgulloso abuelo de 17 nietos y 19 bisnietos.

Agustín era conocido por su personalidad divertida. Su familia y amigos lo recuerdan como una persona graciosa al que le encantaba bromear con los demás. Aunque le gustaba divertirse, Agustín también quería asegurarse de que su familia siguiera el camino correcto. Su orientación y consejos demostraron el profundo amor y cuidado que tenía por su familia.

La velación llevará a cabo el viernes 21 de abril de 2023 de 1:00 a 8:00 p. m. en la funeraria Solosy.

Tendrán la oportunidad de verlo en cuerpo presente el sábado 22 de abril de 2023 a las 10:00 a.m. hasta la hora de la misa que comenzará a las 10:30 a.m. en St. Iglesia Católica de San Gabriel.

Agustín será enterrado en el cementerio de Holy Cross después de la misa.
