Aliyah Marie Velez

The family of Aliyah Marie Velez is saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the age of 22 years.

Beloved daughter of Anita Velez and Agustin Velez. Loving sister of Agustin Velez Jr., Abygal Velez, and Alexander Velez. Dear aunt of Gio, Justin, and Amiyah.

Aliyah was born on July 16, 2001 in Wyandotte, Michigan. Throughout her childhood, Aliyah was known for her pleasant demeanor, general happiness, and for simply being a good kid. As a child, her grandmother loving gave her the nickname "Lola" and the name just stuck.

Aliyah had a zest for life. After graduating from Allen Park High School in 2019, Aliyah had a passion for working. She worked hard and took pleasure in making money so she could do the things she enjoyed. When she wasn't working, Aliyah was spending time with family and friends. One of the things she loved to do most was cooking. She loved to eat a variety of food and could never turn down a good meal. Aliyah also loved shopping and anything Hello Kitty.

Aliyah was a beautiful young lady taken far too soon. She was known for her big smile and contagious laugh. Her smile would light up a room, which would accentuate her beautiful face and cute cheeks, which she lovingly called "cheeky fat."  People loved to be around her because she was a big kid at heart.

Aliyah will be sincerely missed by many dear family members and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024  11:00 AM until time of Memorial Service at Solosy Funeral Home.

Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
