Amanda Marie Bilinski

Following a battle with health, it is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Amanda Marie (Gretka) Bilinski on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the age of 34 years.

Amanda was born on November 5, 1988 to David and Patricia Gretka. She was the oldest of two children and grew up in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

Amanda attended high school at Lincoln Park High School. At 16 years old, Amanda met the love of her life and high school sweetheart Christopher Bilinski. Amanda and Chris were inseparable and when the two graduated in 2006 they both went on to study at Michigan State University. Amanda always worked hard at all she put her mind to and earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology. In 2011, Amanda and Christopher were married and remained in Lansing because they loved the area. Amanda was the beloved wife of Christopher for 12 remarkable years.

Amanda truly lived life to the fullest. She was an avid lover of the outdoors and was always up for an adventure. She loved to be active and enjoyed downhill skiing, bicycle and unicycle riding, climbing trees, rollerblading, karate, and dancing. Amanda also found pleasure in fishing. She always looked forward to casting a line with her fishing partner and friend Joe. Running was another activity Amanda liked to do and she ran in 3K and 5K races. Throughout high school Amanda was active in many things, but most notably was her devotion to the ROTC program and being the Captain of the Color Guard. When Amanda was not enjoying the outdoors, she was using her creative skills to make crocheted items. She made many things such as scarves, hats, stuffed animals, and wash cloths, but her crocheted blankets are by far her most beautiful works of art.

Amanda's life was a bright light that everyone wanted to be around. She was genuine and kind. Although she was taken from us far too soon, her life touched so many. Amanda built her life around helping others and making sure that every person knew they mattered. This was displayed through her work as a job site supervisor with Peckham, a non-profit helping people with special needs. Everyone who knew Amanda loved her. She was a people person and could make a friend anywhere.

Amanda leaves behind a legacy of love. Beloved wife of Christopher Bilinski. Loving daughter of David and Patricia Gretka. Dearest sister of David (Brittany) John Gretka II. Best friend and chosen sister of Ellan Ayles and Vanessa Tyra. She will be forever missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 20, 2023  1:00 - 8:00 PM.  Wake Service will begin at 7:00 PM.

Instate will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023  9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass  10:00 AM at St. Cyprian Catholic Church.

Graveside Prayers and Interment will follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held in Lansing at 10:00 AM on September 30, 2023 at Redeemer Church 2727 W. Holmes Rd. Lansing MI 48911.
