Anita Jane Glun

December 27, 1928 — May 12, 2024

Anita Glun, born December 27, 1928, passed from this life on May 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion. Born into a world that would see incredible change over the span of her lifetime, Anita navigated each era with grace, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear.

Anita was the cornerstone of her family, the glue that bound them together through the joys and sorrows of life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas James Glun. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that would endure beyond the passage of time.

Anita was the proud mother of William Patrick Glun, the late Genevieve Glun, Thomas Edward Glun, Richard Kevin Glun, and Theresa Diane (Danny) Branham. Her children were not just her pride but her joy, each one a testament to her nurturing spirit and unconditional love. Her legacy continued to flourish through her grandchildren: Diane Lisa (Jason) York, Thomas William (Amy) Glun, and Heather (Patrick) Clapper, who were the apples of her eye. And her heart knew boundless joy in the presence of her great-grandchildren: Dustin, Brandon, Jordan, MaryJane, Tomi, Lorelai, and Lucas, who brought light and laughter into her life.

Anita's commitment to service extended beyond her family, as she dedicated herself to various organizations, leaving an indelible mark on her community. As a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, she served with honor and distinction at the Lincoln Park Post. Her dedication to her fellow veterans was unwavering, a testament to her patriotism and selflessness. Additionally, Anita proudly served with the American Legion post in Lincoln Park, further embodying her commitment to her country and its defenders.

Her faithfulness extended beyond the realm of veterans' organizations, as Anita was also a devoted member of the Moose Lodge of Taylor, a commitment that later merged with the Lodge in Woodhaven. Through her involvement, she formed enduring friendships, touched countless lives, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Anita Glun's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will inspire generations to come. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the profound impact she had on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Anita's spirit will forever remain a beacon of light, guiding us through the darkness with love, compassion, and unwavering strength. Rest in peace, dear Anita, knowing that your legacy will endure.
