The family of Anthony Edward Bacon, age 69, of Lincoln Park, is saddened to announce his passing on December 14, 2023.
Beloved husband of Mary Ann Bacon. Dearest father of Robert, Anthony Jr. (Devin), John (Julie), Kevin, Travis (Heather), Theodore (Rachel), Julie (Ryan), and Justin. Dear grandfather of sixteen and great-grandfather of one.
Anthony was born on November 18, 1954 to the late Robert and Lydia Bacon in Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his siblings Jim, Julie, Margaret, Theodore, and Robert (Chip). He is preceded in death by his sisters Lydia and Alice. Anthony made a living working in the steel industry. He worked in various roles throughout his career; eventually becoming a machinist. When he wasn't working, Anthony enjoyed playing poker and shooting pool. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan; supporting the team throughout the years. He was excited about the start of this season and looked forward to the Winged Wheelers returning to the success that had been known of the previous three decades. Music was an important part of Anthony's world. He was a fan of classic rock, oldies, and especially loved listening to Bob Segar, Elton John, and Elvis and The Temptations. Under the right circumstances, you'd find him singing along with all the hits. More than anything, Anthony loved his children and grandchildren and cherished the time he could spend with them. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 1:00 until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:30 PM. Per his wishes, cremation will take place following the service in the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
