Anthony F Tocco, known fondly as Tony, was born April 22, 1925. He passed away peacefully at the age of 100. Over the course of his remarkable life, he witnessed 17 presidencies and lived through 7 major wars. His life spanned a remarkable century, during which he lived through the Great Depression. He was honorably discharged from the US Army.
Tony began his career as a barber. He cut hair well into his 90’s. He prided himself in this profession. Later, he retired from the Henry Ford Museum, closing a long and productive chapter of work and service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Tocco and Alma (Hohensee) Tocco, as well as his brothers, Charles, William, Carl and his sister Grace. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred (Shumaker) Tocco and his son Gary Tocco.
Tony is survived by his wife Lois (Kane) Tocco , with whom he shared 48 joyful years. He was a proud father to Cheryl Phillips (Dale) and son, Dean (Camilla). He is the cherished grandfather of Aaron (Alexandria), Adam, Ryan and Brett Suzore and Kevin and Steven Tocco and four great grandchildren. Tony is survived by his dear siblings Richard "Fred" Tocco and Caroline Baumann.
A man of deep faith, Tony loved the Lord and lived his life with integrity and grace. He also found great joy in fishing, a pastime that brought him peace and contentment.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at Woodland Church in Brownstown early this spring. Further details will be announced.
