The family of Araceli Milagros Munoz is deeply saddened to announce her passing on March 8, 2026 at the age of 17. Born on November 28, 2008, in Huntsville, Alabama, Araceli spent the last ten years of her life in Detroit, Michigan, where she was raised and surrounded by the love of her family and community.
Gone far too soon, Araceli was a bright, driven, and compassionate young woman who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was still attending high school and was an exceptional student, proudly maintaining a 4.00 GPA. Araceli had big plans for her future. She dreamed of starting her own business so she could build a successful life and take care of her family—something that meant everything to her.
Araceli was the beloved daughter of Stephanie Dee Valdez-Munoz and Fransisco Javier Munoz Munoz, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Araceli was always on the move and full of energy. She loved staying busy, whether it was going to school, spending time with friends and family, or working. She truly enjoyed making her own money and took pride in being independent. No matter how big or small the goal, she was motivated and determined. Having money in her pocket wasn’t just about spending—it gave her the ability to help others whenever she could, which brought her genuine happiness.
She had a kind and generous heart, always willing to help anyone in need. Araceli loved learning new things and developing skills that would move her closer to her dreams. Though she wasn’t always the loudest in the room, her actions spoke clearly—she knew what she wanted and quietly worked toward it with focus and purpose.
Araceli will be remembered for her radiant smile, her unique and sometimes “weird” sense of humor, and her adventurous spirit. She brought laughter and light into every space she entered. Some of the most cherished memories are of family gatherings—simply being together, watching her laugh, and seeing her try to step into the role of the “big little sister” to those she loved.
Araceli leaves behind her beloved siblings, Ruby, Camila, Cruz, Magdalena, Pilar, Julian, and Gael, who will forever hold her in their hearts. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, and will be deeply missed by her paternal grandparents, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Araceli was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents.
She was loved by so many, and her absence leaves a profound void. Though her time here with us was brief, her impact was immeasurable.
