Arlo David Seitz, 94, of Saginaw, MI, passed away at home on September 16, 2020 following a brief; non-Covid-19 related, illness.
Arlo was the third child and only son born to David & Emma Seitz in August 8, 1926. Arlo had two older sisters born to David and his first wife, Julia Seitz—Elsie Seitz Ault and Florence Seitz Clark of Ann Arbor, MI. Arlo had two sons by his first wife, Ruth (Luckhardt) Seitz—Mark S. Seitz and Collin D. Seitz. Arlo was also married to Sophia (Romatowski) Seitz until her death in 1981—and to Kathleen (Bitzer) Seitz until her death in 2012.
Arlo graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1945 and had a varied career working as a printer for Edwards Brothers Printing and for the majority of his working life as vault manager for Micrometrical/Bendix Aerospace Industries during years when the U.S. was competing in the race for space supremacy with the U.S.S.R. Arlo enjoyed ballroom dancing and travel in retirement—and was an avid lifelong sports fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Tigers. He also enjoyed watching his favorite TV game shows and crime programs as well as keeping his mind active with word search and Sudoku word games.
Arlo was a regular attendee of the Lincoln Park Church of Christ, Lincoln Park, MI until health issues prevented him from attending.
Arlo is survived by his two sons, Mark (Michelle) Seitz of Saginaw, MI and Collin (Gloria) Seitz of Plymouth, IN; one step-son, Ronald O'Sullivan of Monroe, MI; one step-daughter, Marlene Bitzer of Southgate, MI; grandchildren; Adam (Katie) Arney of Freeland, MI, Jennifer (Andrew) Seitz Gregar of South Bend, IN, Charissa (Ryan) Seitz Stegink and Daniel (Natalie) Seitz of Indianapolis, IN and Stephanie Seitz of Plymouth, IN. Arlo also has ten great grandchildren who survive him.
Arlo was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, his three wives and two great grandsons, Gabriel, and Micah Stegink,
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5-8 pm at the John K. Solosy Funeral Home, 3206 Fort Street, Lincoln Park. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Solosy Funeral Home, with Pastor Collin Seitz of Plymouth, IN presiding. A private burial service will follow at the Washtenong Memorial Park near Ann Arbor, MI. Please keep in mind prior to visiting the funeral home that due to the Governors Executive Orders, we are only permitted to allow 10 people inside the funeral home at any given time and face masks/face coverings are mandatory.
