Arne Donald Drake

Arne Donald Drake passed away May 28, 2022. Arne is survived by his wife Carol Drake of 41 years; three children Janice Godfrey, Nancy Hewson, and Daniel Burtt and Dan's wife Anna Major; eight grandchildren Julie Karlsson, Jacob Visovatti, Sarah Godfrey, Luke Burtt, Hannah Godfrey, David Drake, Raechel Hewson, and Sophia Burtt; three great-grandchildren; as well as a sister, Jannine Lee and her husband John Lee. Arne was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hilda and Donald Drake. Arne was born July 30, 1943 in Wisconsin and grew up in the Dowagiac/Niles Michigan area. He enjoyed playing football and baseball in high school. Arne was in the US Army for four years, where he served in South Korea and was honorably discharged. He then worked for the US Postal Service for 35 years until retirement.

Throughout his life he enjoyed reading, hiking, camping, tennis, biking, golf, and traveling. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, whether it was camping or trips to the zoo. He was also an avid fan of Detroit sports. Arne will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He will be missed by a large family who loved him very much.

No funeral is planned at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
