With heavy hearts, the family of Berniece L. Shaull, residing in Lincoln Park, mourns her passing on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the age of 96. Berniece, born on February 9, 1928, to the late Steve and Pauline Senkoske. She was a dear sister to her 4 siblings.
Berniece shared a lifetime of love with her late husband, Richard Shaull, and together they created a nurturing home for their children. She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Bryan) Ledin and preceeded in death by her late son Gary Shaull. Berniece was a doting grandmother to Paige Shaull and Brayden Ledin, her pride and joy.
A devoted mother and homemaker, Berniece's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family roles. She also served as a secretary and was trained to contribute to the war effort as a Rosie the Riveter.
Berniece had a passion for literature and could often be found engrossed in a good book. Her green thumb was evident in her bountiful garden, where she lovingly tended to her flowers and vegetables with care and dedication throughout the seasons.
Family was at the center of Berniece's world, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her infectious humor, warmth, and loving nature made her the glue that bound the family together.
In addition to her nurturing qualities, Berniece was known for her culinary talents. An excellent cook and baker, she delighted in preparing meals and treats that brought joy to those around her.
Berniece L. Shaull will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
A private burial will take place in the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
Berniece will the laid to rest at Ithaca Cemetery.
