Betty J. Myers

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Betty J. Myers, of Detroit, on Monday, June 19, 2023, at the age of 90 years.

Loving mother of Bob (Sue) Myers, Rick Myers, Debi (Steve) Cormier, the late Don (the late Carol) Myers, and the late Jim Myers. Proud grandmother of Joe Myers, Matt Fenner, Kristin (Rob) Levier, the late Andrew Myers, Corinne (Jason) Jones, Mitchell (Rachel) Jones, and Sarah Myers. Betty is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Robert E. Myers.

Betty was born on September 16, 1932, to the late Chester and Paula Mowrey in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Betty was the youngest child in her family. She is preceded in death by her sister Ruth. The Mowrey family relocated to Michigan during World War II for better work opportunities here.

Betty enjoyed life and all it had to give. One of her most treasured activities was watching and feeding the birds in the backyard. Cardinals were by far her favorite. Betty found joy in gardening in her yard. Every year it would be adorned with colorful flowers. Betty also loved cats. Over the years, she cared for many furry friends. Her son, Rick, even built a cat house in the backyard to provide a warm place in the winter for the neighborhood cats that Betty continually welcomed. Betty delighted in watching a good movie. Hallmark and Old Western movies were regularly on the TV in her home.

Betty will be dearly missed by her family.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023 1:00 PM until time of service at Solosy Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
