Carol Arlene Crothers

The family of Carol Arlene Crothers is saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the age of 89 years.

Beloved wife of the late John Crothers. Loving mother of Carole Paules and Gigi (Curt) Collins. Proud grandmother of Zackery (Amy) Collins, Melissa Paules (Nate Rill), Kaylin Collins, Wiley (Samantha) Collins, and John Paules (Ariana Zani). Dear great-grandmother of Dominic Collins, Mya Collins, Braxton Hughes, and Baby Paules to be born on 6/13/23.

Carol was born on August 16, 1933 to the late Walter and Elizabeth Helmila. She was one of 5 children. Born in Michigan, she remained a Michigander her entire life. Loving sister of the late Wallace Helmila, the late Bernard Helmila, the late Viola Mackey, and the late Norma Mattila.

Carol and John were married in 1951. They met through mutual friends and were happily married for 63 years. They raised two beautiful daughters together and lived in Lincoln Park for 54 years. As years went on, Carol's family grew. The more grandchildren she had, the more love she had to share. Numerous years were spent babysitting her 5 grandchildren so her daughters could work. The love and time she spent with those precious babies was a memory she cherished.

Carol was full of life and enjoyed many things. One of her favorite activities was going out to eat with family and friends. It didn't matter where, it just mattered that they were out at a restaurant, enjoying food and time together. She was always up for a fun shopping adventure. Window shopping was even something she liked, which was usually followed by, "Now, let's go out for lunch." Dressing nicely and maintaining a neat and clean appearance was always a top priority for Carol. She loved to make sure her hair was done properly and would spend the time making it just the way she liked it. Neat and clean was also how she kept her home. Her daughters fondly remember how meals were always on the table and a tidy, clean house was always kept.

Carol will be sincerely missed by her family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023  3:30 PM until time of service at Solosy Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 PM.

Dinner will follow at Baldo's Restaurant, 20051 Telegraph Rd, Brownstown, MI 48183.

Interment will be on Sunday, June 11, 2023  at 12:00PM at Michigan Memorial Park.
