Carole Jean Lezotte, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the age of 85. Carole was born on September 2, 1938, to the late Carl and Wanda (Shriver) Melzer, and she was one of three siblings, the late Marlene (the late Don) Daugherty and survived by her dear sister Maryann (the late Bernie) Himmel.
Carole was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Lezotte and the loving mother of Leslie Belcuore and the late Devin LaBeau. She took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Lauryn and as a great-grandmother to Cloe and Jayden.
Throughout her life, Carole cultivated deep friendships, with special mention to her dear daughter-in-law Cindy Simpson. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in the world of literature. Carole had an insatiable love for romance novels; she could never resist the allure of a good page-turner, even if it meant diving into novels spanning 900 to 1000 pages. Her passions in life extended far beyond reading though, as she also enjoyed crafting, notably through ceramics and was renowned for her cake baking.
Carole found camaraderie and sisterhood in the Red Hat Ladies group, where she shared laughter and creativity with fellow members. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of Community Lutheran in Flat Rock. Carole found solace and fulfillment in her involvement with the church, including her participation in the choir and the Advent program, where her voice lifted in song.
In the hearts of those who knew her, Carole leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and devotion. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private cremation will be held in the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
A memorial visitation will take place at Community Lutheran Church in Flat Rock on May 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM.
Following the memorial service, Carole will be laid to rest beside her husband, Gerald, in Michigan Memorial Cemetery.
