IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Ann
Cox
September 19, 1973 – December 20, 2025
With heavy hearts, the family of Carolyn Ann Cox, lovingly known to all as Carrie, announces her passing on December 20, 2025, at the age of 52. Born Carolyn Ann Wlotkowski on September 19, 1973, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, Carrie lived a life defined by compassion, service, and an unwavering love for others.
Carrie was the cherished daughter of Andrew John Wlotkowski and Patricia Ann (Kish) Wlotkowski, and the proud, devoted mother of her beloved son, Aidan, who was the center of her world. She is survived by her brother David (Amy) Wlotkowski, her adored nieces Natalie and Molly, and her beloved great-grandmother Margaret Kish, who held a special place in her heart. Carrie also leaves behind her dear friends—Wendy, Michelle, Kathie, and Joe—who were family to her in every way that mattered. She will be deeply missed by her loyal canine companion, Gibby, her pit mix, who was rarely far from her side.
From a young age, Carrie’s gentle spirit and creativity shone brightly. She was deeply involved in tap and ballet as a child and developed an early, lifelong love of animals. Among her many joyful memories from childhood was participating in a talent show alongside her friend Kim, performing dance—an experience that perfectly captured Carrie’s creativity, courage, and joyful spirit. This compassion only grew stronger as she got older, shaping the way she lived her life and served her community.
Carrie pursued her passion for helping others through cosmetology school, finding joy in serving people and helping them feel confident and beautiful. She was the proud owner of The Hair Culture, a salon that reflected her dedication, talent, and heart. Carrie took immense pride in her work—not just for the artistry, but for the relationships she built with those who sat in her chair.
Her greatest legacy, however, was her tireless commitment to helping those in need. Carrie founded R.A.I.N.A. (Reaching All In Need of Assistance) and was actively involved in multiple rescue and homeless outreach organizations. She became known throughout the community for putting out calls for help, organizing donations, storing supplies, and personally distributing necessities to individuals and families who needed them most. Carrie never hesitated to step in—no matter the time, effort, or personal cost—because helping others was simply who she was.
Those who knew Carrie will remember her as a woman with a heart of gold, someone who never put herself first, but instead devoted her energy to lifting others up. Family meant everything to her. She made it a point to attend every family gathering and treasured time spent with her nieces, especially during board game nights that became cherished traditions. Helping others, being present, and loving fiercely were always her priorities.
Carrie was beloved by countless people throughout the community whose lives were touched by her generosity, advocacy, and unwavering kindness. Her impact will continue to be felt through the many lives she changed, the causes she championed, and the love she gave so freely.
A memorial gathering will be scheduled soon, with service details to be announced once available.
Carrie’s life was a testament to selfless love and compassion. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit lives on in every life she helped, every heart she touched, and every act of kindness inspired by her example.
