Taylor

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Earnest Clifford "Cliff" Tackett, who left
us on February 17, 2025, just three days shy of his 81st birthday. Cliff was born on February 20,
1944, in Virgie, Kentucky, to the late Oreland and Madgie Tackett.

A proud graduate of Virgie High School, Cliff was a standout basketball player who turned down
a major scholarship to pursue a career in the automotive industry. He moved to Michigan, where
he began working for Chrysler and met the love of his life, Carolyn Sue. Their love story began
when they met at a restaurant in River Rouge—it was truly love at first sight. They married and
spent 60 beautiful years together, building a family that Cliff cherished deeply.

Cliff's professional journey led him to study tool and die making at Henry Ford Community
College, mastering a trade that would define much of his career. Though he once dreamed of a
future in sports, he never regretted choosing a career and family over athletics. His love for his
three daughters, Dorinda, Michele (Darryl), and Kim (Matt), was immeasurable, and he took
great joy in their lives and successes. Cliff also cherished his role as a grandfather to seven
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, always eager to share in their milestones and joys.

In addition to his family, Cliff had a passion for horse racing, gardening, and attending his
grandchildren's extracurricular activities. His favorite place was West Branch, Michigan, where
countless cherished memories were made with loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Sue Tackett; children Dorinda Tackett, Michele
(Darryl) Hudgin, and Kim Fisher (Matt Betley); grandchildren Adam (Angela) McKenna, Brent
McKenna (Stephanie Cogo), Bailey (Tyler) Castiglione, Aaron Mason, Mariah Fisher, Emily
(Brandon) Albers, and Claire Mason; great-grandchildren Landon McKenna, Sophia McKenna,
Kayden Douglas, Harper Castiglione, and Blake Castiglione; and bonus grandchildren Kyle
Thompson, Dakota (Allie) Thompson, and Monique Thompson. He is also survived by his
siblings Lois Neil Banks of Weaverville, NC, Larry Dan Tackett of Schaumburg, IL, and Micheal
S. Tackett of Virgie, KY.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Oreland and Madgie Tackett, as well as his siblings
Thedis Martin, Gail Ray, Oradale Johnson, and Charles Tackett. His beloved cats, Gunner and
the late Cody, held a special place in his heart. Cliff's close friends, Carol and Fred Polite, were
an integral part of his life, offering support and companionship throughout his journey.

As we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, we find comfort in
knowing that Cliff's legacy will live on through his family, his passions, and the many lives he
touched with his kindness, warmth, and dedication.

Rest in peace, Cliff. You will always be loved, remembered, and missed
