Spring Hill

Colleen Rogers Riddle, a devoted mother, grandmother, and gardener extraordinaire, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the age of 90. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will forever bloom in the hearts of those who knew her.

Beloved wife of the late Everett Riddle. Loving mother of Karen (Gary) Townsend, Barbara (the late John) Kish, and Eric Riddle. Devoted grandmother of Kevin (Lisa) Townsend, Melissa Townsend, Matthew (Alicia) Hayes, Beth Hayes, Kyle (Samantha) Riddle, Mickinley (Erin) Kish, and Kayla Kish. Proud great-grandmother of Samantha, Michael, Daisy, Rowan, Camden, Dominick, and McKenzie.

Colleen was born on December 28, 1933 to the late Herman and Zennie Bridges in Leicester, North Carolina. She was one of five beautiful children. Colleen was preceded in death by her siblings Paul, Maurice, Margaret, and Ronnie. In the early years of marriage, Colleen and Everett moved to Michigan. She called Lincoln Park home for over 50 years. In the final years of her remarkable journey, Colleen found solace and joy in the rolling hills of Spring Hill, Tennessee. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, she embraced a peaceful and serene life, savoring the tranquility that the picturesque landscape offered.

Colleen discovered her lifelong passion for gardening early on. Her green thumb was unmatched, and her love for all types of flowers was evident in the vibrant kaleidoscope that adorned her front porch. The sight of hanging baskets filled with blossoms was a testament to the joy she found in nurturing the beauty of nature.

Beyond her love of gardening, Colleen was a loving mother whose warmth and care extended to her family and beyond. She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, creating cherished moments that will be forever etched in their hearts. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she delighted in the moments they shared. Colleen will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She leaves behind a garden of memories, each petal a reminder of her tender care and nurturing spirit.
