Danny James Dailey

April 25, 1966 — June 16, 2025

Danny James Dailey, age 59, passed away on June 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of handiness and practicality. Born on April 25, 1966 in Huntington, West Virginia, to Tina Ann (Wilson) Dailey and the late Danny Louis Dailey, Danny was proud of his West Virginia roots. His formative years were spent growing up in Michigan and he graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1984. From an early age, Danny had a natural ability to understand how things worked—often taking them apart and putting them back together with ease; though sometimes he would end up with "extra" parts. He carried that instinctive talent throughout his life, earning a reputation as a true jack-of-all trades.

Danny was a man who could fix anything, ride anything, and face anything. Whether it was the rumble of a motorcycle on an open road or the peaceful silence of a forest during hunting season, he found his peace outdoors or in motion. He had a deep love for working on cars, a passion passed down through generations and shared with friends and family. His skills were practical, his hands always busy, and his heart always open.

Danny loved fiercely and lived freely. He was blessed to love twice in his life. Danny was preceded in death by both of his beloved partners—Kimberly and Edith—each relationship a chapter marked by enduring love, laughter, and shared family moments. As a father, he dearly loved his children: Danny, Jessica, Sheila, and Danielle. He was a source of strength for them, always offering spontaneous adventures or sage advice in his own unique, bold way.

He was a proud grandfather to Blake, Chase, Tyler, and Rufus. Nothing lit up his face more than the laughter of his grandchildren or a well-told story at a family gathering.

Danny had a deep love for both of this siblings, David and Denise. Over the years, he shared a particularly close bond with his brother who stood by him through life's ups and downs. Whether it was working together on a project or sharing a meal, the loyalty and love between them ran deep.  And by Danny's side through thick and thin was his faithful pit bull, Big Mac—his constant companion and friend.

Known for his tough exterior and warm heart, Danny was the kind spirit who loved life. Although he faced life's hardship at times, he was hilarious in the most unexpected moments and spontaneous to the core—often deciding on a whim to take a trip, start a project, or tell a wild story that left everyone laughing. "A Country Boy Can Survive" by Hank Williams Jr. was more than a song to him—it reflected the way he lived.

Danny James Dailey will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His presence was powerful, his love enduring, and his memory a light that will shine on in the stories and hearts of his family and friends.

Danny's cremation is taking place in the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
