Dayton Joseph Brunges

The family of Dayton Joseph Brunges, of Taylor, is saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

Dayton was born on April 25, 1938 to the late Vernon and Mary Brunges in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Beloved husband of Judith Ann Brunges. Loving father of the late Dayton Vernon. Proud Papa of Kristen. Dear brother-in-law of Bob (Janet) Akkanen, the late Mike (Barb) Akkanen, Debbie (Mike) Farmer, and Sue Sherman. Dearest uncle of Kim, Randy, Megan, Lauren, Tanya, Doug, Dan, Tara and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Dayton enjoyed working and staying busy. For many decades, he worked as a custodian for the Taylor School District. Dayton was a jack-of-all trades and was very good at fixing things. His devotion to his job shined through as he worked tirelessly to ensure the building ran smoothly for the students and teachers.

Dayton enjoyed life and took pleasure in many things. He was a Detroit sports fanatic, especially the Red Wings and Tigers. He could often be found watching the games on TV and in person. Dayton's love for his favorite teams didn't stop there, he loved collecting Red Wing or Tigers memorabilia too. Dayton also enjoyed watching TV. He especially loved western movies and TV shows.

Dayton will be sincerely missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 1:00 - 7:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 PM.
