Lincoln Park

Deborah Kay Gonzalez, lovingly known as “Debbie,” passed away on April 26, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on January 24, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan, Debbie was the cherished daughter of William Burton and Veronica (Housley) Burton.

Debbie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a personality that could light up any room. She was known for her outgoing spirit and her unmistakable way of “hollering” at her beloved husband, Greg Gonzalez—always in love, always with a smile behind it. The two were united in marriage on April 13, 2016, and shared a bond full of humor, devotion, and companionship.

She was a proud and loving mother to Danielle (Dale) Hollow, Judith (Jason Rideout) Rhome, and Stacy (Chris Land) Rhome. Debbie’s greatest joy came from her grandchildren—Alexzander, Madison, Aidan, Peyton, Donna, Dante, and Cameron—whom she adored beyond measure. Whether babysitting them or spending weekends together, she treasured every moment and made sure they knew how deeply they were loved.

Debbie is also survived by her siblings William Jr., Kimberly, Jessie, and Jaimie, and was preceded in death by her sister Marlene. She held a special place in her heart for her nephew Travis, who was more like a son to her, and she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will miss her dearly.

Debbie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved shopping, going to the casino—especially the MGM Grand Detroit Casino—and playing the penny slots. She enjoyed going out for ribs and had a sweet tooth for Reese’s Cups. She loved spending time playing UNO and making snacks including her famous tuna sandwiches.

To know Debbie was to love her. She had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and entertained all at once. Her laughter, her warmth, and her love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Family and friends will gather to remember Debbie on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park. A Funeral Service will take place the same evening at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will take place in the care of Solosy Funeral Home following the funeral.

Debbie’s family will forever cherish the memories of a life well lived and a woman well loved.
