Delia Evelyn Suarez

Delia Evelyn Suarez was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who stood by her husband of over 57 years until his death in 2024 did them apart.

She passed away on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at the age of 86.

Mom was born 7/1/1940 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she grew up before coming to the main states. She gave up her career to devote herself to raise, educate, and protect her 3 children, Michelle, Sharon, Alan, and later on joyfully helped raise her grandson Joshua Giovanni, Michelle’s son, who lived with her until her death.

Mom’s love and commitment to her family never wavered or faltered. She was happily dedicated to her 3 children, Michelle, Sharon, Alan, and son-in-law Sunny, whom she revered and loved very much and always said he was her 2nd son, and always praised him and was forever grateful to Sunny for everything he did and his constant unconditional support in all forms, and always said Sunny was far greater than her and Dad could have ever hoped for.

She absolutely adored her 2 grandchildren, Joshua Giovanni, Michelle’s son, and Alana Thalia, Alan’s daughter.

Mom was simple, very humble, very kind, very selfless, not impressed by ranks, social status or money.

Mom was a woman of great faith, integrity, respect, kindness, and valued justice and fairness for all of humanity, regardless of ethnicity, education, religion or background.

Our mom was very patient, determined, courageous and giving, full of valor.

Delia Evelyn was the pillar of strength and support that her family relied on.

Mom will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, son-in-law and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park. Visitation will continue the following day, Monday, August 31st from 9:30 a.m. at Solosy Funeral Home until the time of service. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
