Diana Marie Leader passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit at the age of 74. Born on September 4, 1951, in Pontiac, Michigan, Diana was the daughter of James Cox and Bobbie (Proffit) Cox. She devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a home filled with love, comfort, and unwavering support.
For 55 wonderful years, Diana shared her life with the love of her life, Steven Leader. Together they built a family rooted in love, faithfulness, and devotion. Diana was the heart of her home—a woman whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Robert (Michelle) Leader, Scott Leader, and Rebecca Morales, who were the pride and joy of her life. She was a cherished grandmother to Matthew Leader, Madison Leader, Brandon Morales, Aaron Morales, and Cameron McNabb, and a proud great-grandmother to Eli Morales and Bryson Leader. Diana is also survived by her sister, Donna, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
At home, Diana found companionship in her beloved cat, Bandit, who faithfully stayed by her side over the past two years.
To know Diana was to know unconditional love. She was the kind of person who instinctively put everyone else before herself. Selfless, affectionate, and endlessly giving, she found happiness in caring for others. Whether it was preparing meals, offering comfort, lending a listening ear, or simply making sure everyone was okay, Diana made those around her feel loved and cared for.
Her family fondly remembers that she never missed a moment that mattered. Every game, school concert, recital, and milestone found Diana cheering from the sidelines. Long before the phrase became common, she was proudly a "helicopter mom"—always present, always involved, and always looking out for her children. Her constant encouragement and unwavering support became one of the greatest gifts she ever gave her family.
Diana's legacy is not measured by titles or accomplishments, but by the countless acts of kindness, sacrifice, and unconditional love she shared throughout her life. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her example and forever grateful for the care she so freely gave.
The family is extremely proud that even in death, she was able to save lives by being an organ donor. Cremation has taken place in the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love Diana poured into her family will continue to live on in every cherished memory, every shared laugh, and every act of kindness inspired by her remarkable life.
