Donald Michael Puza, a lifelong resident of Lincoln Park, passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on January 13, 1953, to the late Casimer and Anne Puza, Don was a selfless and loving man who touched the lives of everyone he met.
Don was the proud father of Christopher and Kevin Puza and a devoted grandfather to Tyler, Mia, Easton, and Michelle. He cherished his time with his grandchildren, always interested in their activities and lives. Don is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Steven) Curtis, who fondly referred to him as a "good soul." He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and John Puza.
Known as a jack of all trades, Don had a knack for fixing anything and was rarely seen sitting still—he was always busy with a project. His down-to-earth and steady demeanor, sprinkled with a touch of stubbornness, endeared him to family and friends.
Don had a passion for music, particularly the blues, and enjoyed playing both acoustic and electric guitar, favoring his electric. He was an avid fan of drag racing and had a deep appreciation for classic cars. A true Detroit sports enthusiast, Don was devoted to the Red Wings, Detroit Lions, and the University of Michigan Wolverines football team.
Above all, Don's selflessness, love, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Don by sharing a memory or spending time with loved ones—just as he would have wanted.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 PM.
