Donna Marie Robeson

November 25, 1946 — March 26, 2024

Donna Marie Robeson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on March 26, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on November 25, 1946, Donna was the cherished daughter of the late Donald and Mary Papke. She was the oldest of seven siblings, including Susan (Tom), Brian (Nancy), Dan, Margaret (John), Paul (Mary), and the late Anthony.

Donna's life was deeply marked by love and devotion. On April 15, 1966, she married the love of her life, Ronald Robeson, with whom she shared 54 years of unwavering commitment and joy. Together, they raised their family right here in Downriver, where Donna dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her roles as wife and mother. Her only son, Jeffrey Robeson, held a special place in her heart, and she tirelessly supported him throughout his life, cheering him on every moment she could. As Jeff grew up, she attended every sporting event, even during his college football games. Donna loved providing for the people who meant the world to her, which was tenderly demonstrated through her passion for cooking. Creating a delicious meal, such as spaghetti, Swiss steak, or tacos, was an activity she took immense pride in.

As a grandmother to Meredith (Aaron), Ryan (Sarah), and Marissa, Donna's love knew no bounds. She delighted in their company, always eager to hear about their adventures and life experiences. Her affection for her grandchildren was evident in every interaction. Donna was also thrilled to welcome great-grandchildren into her family, cherishing every moment spent with Rowen, and anticipated a precious one on the way.

Donna's vibrant spirit extended beyond her family life. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as flower gardening and biking in the fresh air. Donna had a passion for country music, watching Hollywood award shows, as well as viewing and collecting lighthouses. Shopping was another hobby Donna enjoyed. Two of her favorite stores were Target and Kohls. Denim fashion was a regular part of Donna's wardrobe, which earned her the endearing nickname "Denim Donna" by her husband, Ron. Whether it was a comfortable pair of jeans or a cozy denim jacket, she loved all things denim. Her inquisitive nature also earned her the nickname "Detective Donna," as she eagerly sought knowledge about the world around her, always staying informed and engaged. There was never a day she missed watching the news.

A lover of sweets, Donna had a fondness for indulging her sweet tooth with candy and desserts, including favorites like peanut M&M's. Yet, her sweetness wasn't confined to treats; it radiated from her warm heart and through her kind eyes, touching the lives of all who knew her.

Donna leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by her immediate family and countless extended relatives, including her dear daughter-in-law, Vicki, nieces, nephews, as well as all whose lives she enriched with her presence.

In honoring Donna's memory, let us remember her with fondness and gratitude for the love and light she brought into the world. Though she may be gone, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
