Dorothea Helen Salamon

Dorothea Helen Salamon, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at the age of 95.

Dorothea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emery Salamon, and their son Emery Jr. She is survived by her children David (Barb) Salamon, Mary (John) Cameron, and her daughter-in-law, Helen Salamon. Cherished grandmother of Michelle, Jon, Kyra, Cori, Brian, and Jeffrey and the late Michael. She was also a proud great-grandmother to seven.

Dorothea was a warm, accepting, and witty woman who brought joy and love to those around her. She found immense happiness in being a mom and grandma, often bringing her family together through her cooking and baking. Her bacon roast was a favorite at family dinners, where she created countless cherished memories.

She enjoyed simple pleasures, such as bike rides, family vacations, and curling up with a good mystery novel—especially ones featuring pets, like A Dog's Courage. A fan of feel-good entertainment, Dorothea loved Hallmark movies and mysteries, which mirrored her kind and loving spirit.

Dorothea's legacy of love, laughter, and warmth will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

She will lie Instate on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Cabrini with Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Final resting place at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown.
