Edith Ann Stevens

February 7, 1928 — May 30, 2025

Lincoln Park

With deep love and cherished memories, the family of Edith Ann Stevens announces her peaceful passing on May 30, 2025, at the age of 97. A lifelong resident devoted to faith, family, and community, Edith embodied the very best of grace, warmth, and service.

Born on February 7, 1928, Edith lived a long and beautiful life, overflowing with devotion to those she loved. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald "Jerry" Stevens, with whom she shared a strong and enduring marriage that lasted over 56 years. Together, they built a family grounded in love, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Edith was the treasured mother of Linda Jarvis and David (Kimberly) Stevens, and a proud and doting grandmother to Robert (Jennifer) Turner, Jonathan (Becky) Turner, Gerald (Amanda) Turner, Joshua, Jeremy (Brittney), Joseph (Melissa), and Hailey (Gavin). Her legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren—Heather, Nathan, Stephanie, Tasha, Karissa, Noelynn, Elizabeth, Jax, Ali, Ava, Joshua Jr., Alivia, Isabelle, and Thomas John—and great-great-grandchildren—Harper, Hadley, Gracie, and Jewel—each of whom she adored with a heart full of pride.

To know Edith was to witness the epitome of love in action. She was the very definition of the perfect mother and grandmother—present, nurturing, encouraging, and endlessly giving. Her home was a haven filled with laughter, fresh air, and the sweet sounds of Patsy Cline drifting through open windows. She believed in living life with joy and purpose, and she did so to the fullest.

A founding and devoted member of Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church, Edith's commitment to her faith and congregation spanned decades. She served faithfully as a Deacon, led Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, delivered meals to seniors, and visited the homebound—always extending a hand of compassion wherever it was needed.

Her community ties ran deep. For over 70 years, she met faithfully with her card club—a group of dear friends who met in grade school and shared life's joys and sorrows together. Well into her 90s, Edith remained an avid bowler, showing that age was no barrier to enthusiasm and vitality.

In honoring Edith's extraordinary life, we remember a woman of unwavering faith, boundless generosity, and timeless grace. Her light will continue to shine in all those who had the blessing to know her.
