Edward Rodney Nemes

On Monday, April 3, 2023, Edward Rodney Nemes passed away at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Nemes. Loving father of Linda S. West, Pamela K. (Doug) Olah, and Randy E. (Deeann) Nemes. Proud grandfather of Ronald B. Brindley, Christian A. Lybik, Nicole R. Mendoza-Williams, and Kenneth A. Lybik Jr. Dearest great-grandfather of eight and great-great-grandfather of four. Dear brother of the late Raymond Nemes and William Nemes Jr. He is survived by his beloved dog, Oreo.

Edward worked for decades as a foreman in the steel industry. When he wasn't at work he was following the local and national news and keeping a keen eye on the stock market. Edward was a sports lover. He enjoyed watching many different sports but was especially fond of the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. He faithfully served with the Knights of Columbus in Lincoln Park as an officer for over 30 years. Edward had many passions in life but his greatest love was his wife Shirley and he treasured the 57 years of marriage they shared together.

A time of Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 1:00PM to 8:00PM with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:00PM at Solosy Funeral Home. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery followed by interment at the cemetery.
