Elizabeth Lynn Grochulski

July 28, 1952 — October 13, 2023

Newport

The family of Elizabeth Lynn Grochulski is saddened to announce her passing on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the age of 71 years.

Beloved wife of Steven Grochulski. Loving mother of Carol, Kevin, and Thomas. Proud grandmother of Kyle.

Elizabeth was born on July 28, 1952 to Joan and the late Steven Toth. She is survived by her siblings Joey, Marion, Jeanette, and Arlene. She is also survived by her dearest friend in Florida, Karen.

Elizabeth lived a full life which included highs and lows. Throughout the ups and downs of life she was persistent and tough. One of the most striking examples involved an accident she suffered. Elizabeth ended up in a coma that lasted over a month. She kept fighting and eventually was able to fully regain her strength. Thankfully, a full life also includes good times too. Elizabeth loved shopping and passed that love to her daughter Carol. Elizabeth also enjoyed spending time by the water with her friends and family. On the weekends during football season, you could find her by the TV cheering for the Dallas Cowboys or the Michigan Wolverines. Through her love of Wolverines football, she found out about the Chad Tough Foundation and supported them in their efforts to fight and cure diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.

Family was most important to her. Some of the most precious times in our lives are spent with the pets that we come to know as family and this was true of Elizabeth. She cared for different pets throughout the years and she was especially fond of her dogs Toby (Yellow Lab) and Riley (Black Lab) as well as her cat, Pumpkin. Music was always important in her life. Favorite artists included Neil Diamond and The Beatles. She was heartbroken when John Lennon died and cherished their music all the more. Elizabeth loved Christmas time; it was her favorite time of year. She enjoyed being together with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to Solosy Funeral Home and a Memorial Celebration of Life is planned for a future date.
