Esperanza Mary Ramos

The family of Esperanza Mary Ramos, of Southgate, is saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the age of 87 years.

Beloved mother of Alex (Theresa) Romero and grandmother & great-grandmother of Yacsmani, Monica, Selena, and Jazzy.

Beloved mother of Andrew Ramos and grandmother of Yen Yung Chen, Chyna (Luis), Andrew, David, and Joshua & great-grandmother of Adriana, and Luis.

Beloved mother of Carmen Ramos and grandmother of Raquel (John), Kristalyn, Amber, and Glen & great-grandmother of Anelalani, Sincere, Reyna, Bishop, Avah, Emmalina, and Jesse.

Beloved mother of Esther (Antonio) Angeles and grandmother of Alexis, Adriana, Ashley, and Anabel & great-grandmother of Liam, Aaliyah, Adonis, Dominic, Jonathon, Antonio, and Anakin.

Esperanza was born on February 7, 1936 to the late Juan and Sebastiana Romero in San Antonio, TX. She was the 9th of thirteen children. Esperanza is survived by her sister Beatrice Flores and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her other brothers and sisters. Throughout her life Esperanza worked hard and took care of her family. Besides raising her children, the work she held most dear was the time spent as a Senior Citizen Advocate and President with a senior co-op.

Esperanza will be sincerely missed by her family and everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 25, 2023  1:00 - 8:00 PM.  Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023.  Instate will be at 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, MI.
