Fernand Robinson DuHadway, 89, passed away on September 8, 2013 in Dearborn, MI. He was born on April 6, 1924 in Ft. William, Ontario, Canada to the late Elwyn and Olga DuHadway. Fernand grew up in Ecorse, MI and graduated from Ecorse High School in 1942. In 1943, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corp and proudly served as a ball turret gunner on a B17 Flying Fortress in the 8th Air Force. While serving he was awarded several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart. Fernand was a proud veteran and a kind and caring man. He was a devoted husband, father and grandpa. He was also an avid sports fan. Fernand was happily married to Margaret "Peggy" Burke for 55 years at the time of her death. He is survived by their children, James (Cheryl) DuHadway; Karen (Jacques) Ledent; Renée (David) Cords and Peggy (Scott) Siwka; their grandchildren, Everett DuHadway, Amber Wilkinson, Erin Wilkinson, Philippe Ledent, Marc Ledent, Daniel Siwka and Brian Siwka; and their nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Visitation Tuesday September 10, 2013 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Wednesday September 11, 2013 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors.
