Frank Gregory

Frank William Gregory, 68, of Ecorse, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A man of unwavering loyalty, humor, and heart, Frank lived a full and textured life marked by resilience, devotion, and an enduring love for his family and friends.

Born on June 27, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, Frank was the cherished son of the late Dennis William Gregory Sr. and Veronica Catherine (Enekes) Gregory. Tragedy struck early when  Frank's mother passed away when he was just 10 years old. He was lovingly raised  thereafter by his Aunt Anne, who instilled in him the values of compassion, perseverance,  and kindness—qualities that would shape the man he became.

Frank grew up surrounded by a large and lively family. He was one of six siblings and is survived by his brothers Dale (Renee) Gregory and John Gregory, and his sister Lauralee  "Suzy" Gregory. He was preceded in death by his brothers Denny and Denver Gregory. He  also leaves behind a large extended family of nieces and nephews who adored their uncle and will miss his quick wit.

Frank devoted his professional life to the hospitality industry and retired from a long and  dedicated career at the Marriott Hotel. Known for his strong work ethic, friendly demeanor, and knack for fixing just about anything, Frank made lifelong friends among his coworkers  and guests alike. He took pride in his work and in creating welcoming environments for others.

Frank was a man of many interests and hobbies. He was a sports enthusiast who rarely  missed a football game and loved relaxing in his self made "fan cave"-- remote in one hand and a Bud Light in the other. An old-school handyman at heart, Frank found joy in working with his  hands—tinkering with tools, remodeling homes, and lending a helping hand were his specialties. He had a knack for old Westerns; often seen in his cowboy boots and hats and immersed in a John Wayne movie. Frank was also a proud Harley-Davidson rider in his younger days, he liked to cruise on the open road.

Above all else, Frank was a family man. He shared 25 beautiful years of marriage with the  love of his life, Charisse (Thornton) Gregory. Soulmates in every sense, Charisse and Frank build a life and family together; they bonded over football, traveling, murder mysteries and crime shows like Law and Order and Chicago P.D., and sharing laughs and drinks with friends and family.

Frank's most cherished role was that of father to his only child, Francesca Gregory.  "Daddy's little girl," Frankie was the center of his universe. He was endlessly proud of her,  her spirit, and her accomplishments. He always saw the best in her, and nothing brought  him more joy than spending time with her.

Frank also shared a great love for animals.  Over the years, he opened his home to many beloved pets including his childhood husky, our late Tinkerbell, and his "Spice Girls" Ginger and Peppa who remained by his side until the end.  At one point in time, he even accumulated a collection of fish which of course contained baby sharks–a testament to his curiosity and adventurous spirit.

Frank leaves behind countless friends who will remember his generous heart, his laugh,  and his ability to light up any room. He was the kind of man who always did  what was right, fixed what was broken, and treasured life's moments. He was a father, husband, brother, friend, a hard worker, and a man who lived with purpose, integrity, and perseverance. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025  10:00 a.m. until time of service at Solosy Funeral Home.
