Frank Ledesma was married to Irene Novakowski (d. 1.23.2020) on May 31, 1952 for 67 years. He is a loving father to children Michael Ledesma (Darlene), Susan (Dennis Kozlowski), Robert Ledesma (Sarah), and John Ledesma (d. 4.27.2022). Grandchildren Michael, Ledesma (Jennifer), David Ledesma (d. 4.14.2021) (Rebecca), Dennis Kozlowski (Lori), Craig Kozlowski (Tara), Janel (Tony Vance), and Tabitha. Great-grandchildren Liam, Quinn, Wyatt, Tara, Sarah, Zachary, Brenten, Tayslee, and Taylynn.
Frank's parents are Theresa and Frank Ledesma Sr. and siblings are Henrietta, Violet, Loretta, Jerry, and Marilyn.
Frank was a veteran from the Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, from Nov. 13, 1950 – Jan. 30, 1955. He loved making bread, pies, donuts, cookies, cakes, and even apricot brandy. Frank had a crucial role of bringing smiles to the soldier's faces thru bakery. He made many friends during his 4 years of service. His first-born, Michael, was born in Texas.
Frank was a true artisan. He made wooden cars and boats, built and flew remote control airplanes, repaired bikes (since the age of 14 yrs.), constructed miniature moveable coat hanger carnival rides, and model sandrails. He was even an inventor of the rotating airplane propeller starter. Frank had many jobs in his lifetime but retired as a mechanical engineer from the Downriver Family YMCA in 1997, investing in 40 something years.
Frank enjoyed many family gatherings including the annual KOA Halloween Camping.
Visitation will be held on January 21, 2024 1:00 PM until time of service at Solosy Funeral Home.
