It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Gary Allen Battistone announces his unexpected passing on January 7, 2026, at the age of 58.

Gary was born on July 12, 1967, to Paul Edward Battistone and Jacqueline (Candela) Battistone. He was raised in Taylor, Michigan, where he spent his childhood and formed lifelong roots and friendships that stayed with him throughout his life.

Gary served in the United States Army, an important chapter of his life that reflected his commitment, strength, and willingness to serve. The experiences he gained during that time shaped him and stayed with him throughout his life.

Gary is survived by his children, Alexis Battistone, Joseph (Joey) Battistone, and Katie Battistone, as well as by his longtime companion, Debbie Smith, who shared many meaningful years with him.

He is also survived by his sister Laura Cotton and his brother Michael Battistone. He was preceded in death by his brother Paul Battistone, who is lovingly remembered along with Paul’s wife Dianna. He is also survived by his aunts, Constance (Ronald) Burrows and Marie Brown, and by nine nieces and nephews who will forever cherish their Uncle Gary. He was truly a friend to many, and his presence will be missed by all who knew him.

Gary was well known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease, even in difficult moments. His humor, warmth, and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Visitation for Gary Allen Battistone will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park, Michigan. A committal prayer will take place at 3:45 p.m.
