Geraldine Ann Kowalczyk

February 13, 1957 — May 23, 2025

With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Geraldine Ann Kowalczyk, affectionately known as "Geri," who departed this life on May 23, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born on February 13, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, Geri was the beloved daughter of the late Casimer Kowalczyk and Martha (née Bondy) Kowalczyk. Of proud Polish and French Canadian heritage, she carried forward the legacy of her ancestry through her deep love for family, tradition, and resilience.

Geri's life was marked by perseverance and strength. She met her life partner, the late Edward Paquette, and together they shared over 40 meaningful years, creating a life rich in love and lasting memories. Geri was the proud mother of Joshua Paquette and Samantha Paquette, and Martha Kowalczyk and DeAndre Murdock. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Hailey, Reese, Austin, Jocelyn, Aaliyah, DeAndre Jr., and Jaheim. She poured her heart into her family, finding joy and purpose in her role as a mother and grandmother.

Family meant everything to Geri. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Eugene (Lori) Kowalczyk, Erin Kowalczyk, and Casimer Kowalczyk Jr. She was preceded in death by her dear baby, Holly Kowalczyk. Her circle of love extended to many close friends, including Angie Camill, Connie Young, Marco Pardo, Javier & Olinda Rojas, and Bonnie B., all of whom were touched by her warmth, humor, and unwavering loyalty.

Geri's passions were simple but profound—she loved cooking for others, always with an open heart and a generous hand. Her meals were a way of expressing love, comfort, and togetherness. She delighted in caring for her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. In 2024, she
created beautiful memories on a special trip to Arizona, a moment of joy that her loved ones will
treasure forever.

Those who knew Geri will remember her for her perseverance, her quiet strength, and the care she so freely gave to others. She faced life's challenges with resilience and grace, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Family and friends will gather for Memorial Visitation on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM until the Memorial Service that begins at 7:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park. May her memory be eternal and may the love she shared live on in all whose lives she touched.
