Gerry Ann Duncan, born on October 2, 1943, peacefully left this world on February 10, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She joins her late husband, Kenneth Duncan, in eternal rest.
She was a devoted and loving mother. She is survived by her children Antoinette Marie Merta (Chester), Robert William LaBelle, Yvette Susan Conrado (Daniel), and Amy Ann Aston (Scott). She was a cherished grandmother to Heather (Mark), Chris (Rachel), Roger, Clayton, Bronson (Caitlyn), Sarah, Weston (Lindsey), Ethan (Kristjana), Anna (Tyler), Christian, CJ, Nicholas, and Maxwell. Gerry also delighted in the joy of her great-grandchildren Peyton, Bennett, Quinn, Owen, Mason, Nolan, Myra, Evan, and three great-grandchildren on the way.
Gerry is the beloved sister of the late Calvin LaVigne Jr., Linda Collert, Daniel LaVigne, and Laura Sancrant.
Gerry's heart knew no bounds as she raised numerous foster children and dedicated herself to caring for those children as if they were her own. She willingly took on the special work of caring for children with disabilities. Her compassion and selflessness touched the lives of many.
Gerry, a true family woman, adored her family and desired to be in their presence always. Known for her fiery spirit, Gerry was both spicy and a spit-fire, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Her love for Northern Michigan was evident, and she would express her disapproval if she discovered her family was heading up north without her.
An avid collector of dolls, Gerry found joy in each unique piece. Her love for shopping, especially for her beloved grandchildren, was boundless. Gerry was often found in her kitchen where she delighted in preparing meals that brought her family together.
In her downtime, she enjoyed the thrill of scary movies, the scarier, the better. Her laughter, love, and vivacious spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we mourn the loss of Gerry, let us remember her for the love she shared, the memories she created, and the joy she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to call her family and friend.
