With heavy hearts, the family of Gina Ann (Guerra) Mandujano announces her passing on November 28, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on September 30, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, Gina was the beloved daughter of Anastasio Tacho Guerra and the late Theresa (Dudenski) Guerra. Gina was a beloved daughter to her stepmom, Judy Guerra, who proceeded her in death.
Gina grew up in a lively, loving household where her bright personality quickly became known to all who met her. She was a true social butterfly—full of laughter, energy, and charm. Her father often joked about needing to “chase the boys away,” a testament to her vibrant spirit. The warm presence she exuded made her a dear friend to many. Gina graduated from Lincoln Park High School, setting the foundation for a life rooted in learning, compassion, and service.
Guided by a natural gift for teaching, Gina pursued higher education with unwavering determination. While raising six children, working full-time, and managing a busy home, she earned her Master’s Degree in Child Development. Gina specialized in teaching preschool age children and taught for many years in the Head Start program. Her commitment to her education—often staying up late into the night studying and completing coursework—is remembered as one of her greatest personal triumphs. Gina dedicated more than 30 years to teaching, touching countless young lives with her gentle guidance, patience, and genuine love for learning. A lifelong learner herself, she was always creating, improving, and imagining new ways to better her classroom and inspire others.
Family was the center of Gina’s world. She was a devoted and nurturing mother to Esther Mandujano, Jessica Mandujano, the late Cordero Guerra, Gina Mandujano, Theresa Mandujano, and Mario Mandujano. She was a cherished sister to Anthony Wade Guerra and adored grandma to Victor and “Mimi” to Mataeya, Taila, Alexander, Cruz, Rikki, RJ, Baby Jordan, and the precious infants she now joins in heaven: Baby Len and Baby Olivah. Gina leaves behind one great-grandchild, Little Len, whom she loved dearly. She also held close her best friend Andrea, lifelong friend Brenda, and the late Nancy, whom she loved like sisters. Gina’s beloved dog, Tank, brought her immeasurable joy and companionship.
Gina spoiled her grandchildren endlessly—always showing up with treats, surprises, and her signature nurturing warmth. She put everyone before herself, offering comfort, stability, and unconditional love to her entire family.
Gina’s strength was immeasurable. She overcame a serious car accident earlier in life and later demonstrated extraordinary courage as she faced brain cancer, fighting bravely for a year and a half. Her resilience, grace, and unwavering will were an inspiration to her family and all who knew her.
A creative soul, Gina loved journaling and writing. She wrote a children’s book and even drafted a book about her own life. She enjoyed shopping, crafting curriculum for her classroom, and never left home without being perfectly put together—she loved looking her best. Gina was also an avid sports fan, cheering loudly for the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and the University of Michigan.
Her legacy is one of strength, devotion, creativity, and boundless love. She lived a life marked by perseverance—raising her children, maintaining a busy household full of laundry and cooking, pursuing her education, and building a career that shaped young minds—all at the same time and rarely skipping a beat. Gina leaves behind a family and community forever changed by her generosity, her guidance, and her beautiful spirit.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
