Helen Irene Fratangelo

Passed peacefully at home on March 17, 2012. Born in Detroit, MI on October 29, 1923 to August and Barbara (nee Ustich) Stefan. Beloved wife of Lawrence A. Loving mother of Lawrence D. and Barbara (Dennis) McCarthy. Dear sister of the late Edward Stefan. Dear Sister –In-Law of Mary Stefan, Elizabeth Bogart, Maryann (Joseph) Piscitelli, and Frances Fratangelo. Dearest grandmother of Brettino and Shaun Fratangelo and Adrienne and Chase McCarthy. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and god children. Helen graduated from Southwestern High School and was a longtime member of both Holy Cross Hungarian and St. Timothy Catholic Churches. She retired as a paraprofessional from the Trenton Public Schools, was a Regent and past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella, and was a past Republican Precinct Delegate. Visitation Tuesday March 20, 2012 from 1:00 pm. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary. Funeral Prayers 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 21, 2012 at the John K. Solosy Funeral Home followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass at Holy Cross Hungarian Church, 8423 South Street, Detroit. Interment Parkview Memorial Park.
