Inez Theresa Green

July 14, 1936 — October 12, 2024

Alger

Inez Theresa Green, born July 14, 1936, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delvin Green Sr., and her cherished children, David Green and Christopher Green. She leaves behind her loving children: Delvin Green Jr., Theresa (Alan) Michael, William (Ruth) Green, Thomas (Monica) Green, James (Deborah) Green, and Steven (Ann) Green, as well as her 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Inez was also adored by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A lifelong nurturer, Inez raised her family in the Lincoln Park area, where her home became a place of warmth and comfort. Known for her incredible cooking, she had a remarkable gift for ensuring there was always enough to feed not only her own family but also any friends who happened to drop by during mealtime. Her devotion to her family was unwavering, and she took great pride in caring for them all.

Inez was deeply committed to her Catholic faith and spent much of her life serving her parish communities. For many years, she was an active member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, where she shared her love of faith by teaching Sunday School. After moving to Alger, Michigan, 30 years ago, she continued her ministry at Saint Stephen of Hungary Parish. She was a member of the Franciscan Order and dedicated much of her time to charitable work, founding the St. Francis Food Pantry and the St. Vincent Store. Inez also served as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing the sacrament to those in need.

Her legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Inez will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched through her selfless spirit and dedication to her faith and community.

May she rest in peace.
