James Francis Zieminski

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of James Francis Zieminski, of Wyandotte, on Monday, August 21, 2023 at the age of 75 years.

Beloved husband of the late Mary Jane Zieminski. Loving brother of the late Carole Jacksey, David (Colleen) Zieminski, Larry (Veronica) Zieminski, Barbara (Jim) Younglove, Michael (Vicky) Zieminski, and Edward (Brenda) Zieminski. He is preceded in death by his dog, Pearly, his beloved companion.

James was born on December 26,1947 to the late Edmund and Ruth Zieminski in Detroit, Michigan. Upon graduating from high school, James served in the United States Navy. He was called on by his country to serve in the Vietnam War and he did so with distinction and honor. James ended his active military service, but his dedication to his comrades continued. He was an active member of the Wyandotte VFW post and served in the Wyandotte Veterans Honor Guard where he participated in military honors ceremonies for compatriots who had passed from this life.

Family was important to James and he enjoyed spending time together. He worked for Detroit Diesel as an engine testing technician; a job he worked together with his brother, David. He enjoyed singing and was a part of band with his brother, Edward. Throughout the years, they were active in performing throughout the community. James also enjoyed spending time with family and friends outdoors while enjoying a Miller Lite. Every year, as fall approached, you could find him in the woods deer hunting and he was always willing to spend time in northern Michigan camping with those he loved.

He will deeply missed by his friends and family.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Solosy Funeral Home. A military honors ceremony will be held at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Entombment at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock following the Funeral Service.

A luncheon will be at the Rhapsody Restaurant 14315 Northline, Southgate.
