Jeffrey Elder McLeod, 53, passed away unexpectedly on November 6th 2024 due to a tragic accident. Jeff was known for his constant smile and ability to bring laughter and light to any situation. He was quick witted and lived with an unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
A cherished memory for Jeff was surfing in Hawaii and coaching his son's wrestling team. Jeff was also a passionate U of M football fan. Upon going to a game at The Big House he quoted the movie Rudy saying, "This is the most beautiful sight these eyes have ever seen." He enjoyed Star Wars, playing video games, and was willing to wear matching Christmas PJ's with his wife and best friend, Jen. He embraced all the camping trips he took with his family and relished the memory of seeing Metallica perform live with his sons.
Jeff was a cherished son of Leo Mexicotte. Preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Mexicotte and father Jeffrey McLeod. He was a devoted husband to Jennifer for nearly 27 years— truly his other half. He was a loving father to Erica (Michael) Smith, Amber (Ian) Benak, and Dylan (Kailey) McLeod. A proud and adoring Papa to his four granddaughters: Laila, Aria, Paige, and Briella. A loyal brother to Carl (Danica), Eric, and Ben as well as an exceptional brother-in-law to Jessica, Jeanine, TJ, Matthew, Grant, and Cody. He was also a favorite uncle to his 8 nephews, 13 nieces, and 5 great-niece and nephews. He will even be missed by his cat, Don-Tay. All of these and more will forever remember his ability to make someone laugh, his strong work ethic, his example of perseverance, and the way he made each person in his life truly feel special.
What a blessing to love and be loved by Jeff McLeod. Forever in our hearts.
