Joan Carol Fitch

Joan Carol Fitch, a devoted mother, faithful Christian, dedicated employee, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on June 16, 1943, in Holden, West Virginia, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Henry George Samborski and the late Geneva Madge (Decker) Samborski. Joan lived a life defined by faith, perseverance, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Though small in stature, those who knew her often remarked that she was a powerhouse of strength. Life presented Joan with many challenges from an early age, but those experiences shaped a woman of remarkable resilience, compassion, and quiet determination. She faced every season of life with grace, leaning on her faith in Jesus Christ and finding purpose in serving others.

Her greatest priorities were always her family, her work, and her relationship with the Lord. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Fitch Sr., and her son, Willie Fitch Jr. She leaves behind her loving daughters, Katrina (Paco) Fitch and Jennifer (Steven) Lezotte, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Rose Collins, and was preceded in death by her sister, Henrietta Marcum, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Joan dedicated nearly five decades of her life to Pak-Rite Industries Inc., where she served as an Office Supervisor. Her work was more than a career—it was an extension of her family. She took great pride in what she did, and the friendships she built there lasted a lifetime. Her coworkers became like family, and she became family to them through her loyalty, generosity, and caring spirit.

A faithful member of Bethel Assembly of God, Joan's love for Christ was evident in the way she lived each day. Every morning began with reading her Bible, a cherished routine that strengthened her faith and guided her life. She was known for her generous heart, always willing to help someone in need, offer encouragement, or quietly serve without seeking recognition.

Outside of work and church, Joan found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who enjoyed books of every kind and loved relaxing with word search puzzles. In her younger years, she expressed her creativity through making beautiful afghans and ceramics, creating keepsakes that reflected both her talent and thoughtfulness.

Joan also had a lifelong fascination with lighthouses. She enjoyed collecting lighthouse memorabilia and visiting lighthouses whenever she had the opportunity. She loved collecting many different treasures over the years and found special happiness in caring for God's creation, faithfully feeding the birds and squirrels and delighting in them as they visited her yard.

Those who knew Joan will remember her steadfast faith, incredible work ethic, generous spirit, and fierce love for her family. She demonstrated that true strength is found not in physical stature but in a heart anchored in faith, perseverance, and unconditional love.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Solosy Funeral Home. While her earthly journey has come to an end, those who loved Joan find comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into the presence of her Savior, whom she faithfully followed throughout her life.

Her legacy of faith, kindness, hard work, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
