Joan Marie Zmuda

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Marie Zmuda, who left us on July 13, 2024, at the age of 77.

Joan was born on February 10, 1947, in Asheville, North Carolina to the late Floyd & Gladys Fore. Beloved wife of Richard Zmuda for 29 years. Loving sister of Ron (Barbara) Fore and sister-in-law of Patricia (Richard) Niezogda.

Joan lovingly raised six children. Dear mother of Kenneth (Maggie) Fore, the late Tami (Brad) Whiting, Timothy (Dena) Fore, Kimberly Shelton, Walter (Cindy) Batchelor, Deborah (Kenneth) Miller, and two step-sons Richard Zmuda and Patrick (Brandy) Zmuda.

Joan adored her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandchild. Family and friends meant everything to her.

Joan had a way of making everyone around her feel loved and welcome. She dedicated her life to her husband, children, family, and friends. She was an amazing person and always had great advice for every situation. She had a tenacity for life and was very selfless, strong, and giving.

Joan also loved her crafting, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her loss is a tremendous one for all who knew and loved her. She will be forever in our hearts.

There will be a celebration of life, to be scheduled at a later date.
