John "Boz" Bosnyak, loving husband, dad, papa, and proud Marine, passed away on November 21, 2024 at the age of 77 years.

He was born on December 18, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, to the late John A. Bosnyak Jr. and Elizabeth R. (Gergely) Bosnyak. John was their cherished only child and was dearly loved. Ohio held a special place in John's heart. "Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye" was more than a saying to him—it was a testament to his roots.

John shared an extraordinary love story with his wife, Linda Martin-Bosnyak. Their bond began in their teenage years but was interrupted when John proudly joined the Marine Corps. Life took them in separate directions, yet in 1995 they were reunited once again. After rekindling their love, they married in 2005 and enjoyed nearly 30 years of companionship, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

John was a proud father to John Bosnyak Jr., Rebecca (Bill) Sarazin, Aaron (Tiffany) Logan, Johnnie Michelle Bosnyak, Ronald Aune, and Paul (Melissa) Aune. He adored his role as Papa to Owen, Julia, Matthew, Aaralyn, Abriana, Alexis, Matthew, Krista (Matt), Paul Jr. (Kayla), Jacob, Tyler, and Brittany, as well as Great-Papa to Ayden, Zachary, Matthew Jr., and Carson. His large extended family brought him immense joy throughout his life.

A Marine through and through, John served his country with honor for four years, including during the Vietnam War, where he earned numerous service awards. His dedication to his Marine brothers was lifelong. Every November 10th, he proudly celebrated the anniversary of his enlistment, his "Marine birthday," with reverence and camaraderie. Once John stepped into civilian life after his military service, he worked for Ford Motor Company as a Tug Operator for 37 years.

John had a zest for life and a deep love of the outdoors. He cherished soaking in the sun, tending to his garden, and mowing the lawn. He loved long walks, woodworking, and lending his skills to family projects. His hands were always busy creating, fixing, or helping the people he loved.

Although he was an Ohioan at heart, John embraced his life in Michigan and loved it just as deeply. He loved his home in Lincoln Park, finding joy in supporting his community. He was a dedicated fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions, never wavering in his loyalty to his local teams. Some of his fondest memories also included time spent in northern Michigan with his granddaughter Brittany, where he enjoyed feeding horses, catching frogs, and savoring ice cream surrounded by the northern scenery.

John's idea of bliss often involved relaxation, a good nap, and his favorite TV shows. He was an enthusiastic sports watcher, a fan of WWE wrestling, Judge Judy, and drama talk shows. John regularly participated in fantasy leagues in hopes of choosing winning sports teams. Holidays, especially Halloween, were a time for fun and mischief; he delighted in scaring family and friends with his playful antics.

John also had a special connection to animals, particularly dogs. His loyal companion, Mac—fondly nicknamed "Yahoo"—rarely left his side. Despite his snarky claims of "I don't like that dog," their bond was undeniable, as John took Mac everywhere, even for quick errands or a bite to eat.

John deeply cherished the time he spent with his family. Whether it was gathering for holidays, sharing stories over a meal, or simply enjoying each other's company, his family was the cornerstone of his happiness. He found immense joy in creating lasting memories with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always making them feel loved and valued.

John Bosnyak's life was one of love, service, and joy. Although he departed far too soon, his steadfast devotion to his family and country will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him.
