John Michael Lingvai Sr.

September 29th, 1940 - March 17th, 2022

Lieutenant Colonel John M. Lingvai passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's at the age of 81 on March 17th, 2022. He leaves behind his sister Josie Roberts, his children Jennifer M.  (Douglas E.) Eckard and John Jr. (Jennifer M.) Lingvai and stepson Brian Palmer. He was beloved by all his three grandchildren Julianna Eckard, Christopher Eckard and Kara Lingvai and many nieces and nephews from extended family… John was predeceased by his loving wife, Jeanne Marie Lingvai of a marriage of 45 years, his sisters, Maryann Lasko and Annette Peters and his parents.

John had a long military career serving in both the Air Force and the Army. He served in both Vietnam and Desert Storm. John also was an Air Traffic Controller in Detroit City, East Lansing and Jackson airports

John enjoyed going to concerts playing softball, bowling and hanging out with friends and family. He loved spending time with his grandkids from watching them compete in whatever sports they were involved in as well as going on day excursions all over Michigan and California.

John will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all those who knew him.

Funeral visitation is scheduled for 1-7pm on Monday March 21st at John K. Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park.
