Karen Renee Cole, age 68, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026. Born on September 26, 1957, Karen was the beloved daughter of the late Ray Treen Jacobs and the late Rose Marie (Seaman) Jacobs, who preceded her in death just one year to the day—a reflection of the deep and lasting bond they shared.

Karen spent her life embracing each day with a gentle spirit and a “go with the flow” attitude that made her easy to love and comforting to be around. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in the dialysis medical field, where her kindness, organization, and quiet dedication made a meaningful impact on both colleagues and patients alike.

From a young age, Karen had a special connection to animals. Growing up, her father was a veterinarian, and during his studies, he even cared for a monkey that became part of the family—traveling with them from New Jersey to Michigan, a story that remained a cherished and unique part of her childhood. Karen later shared that same love for animals by working as a dog groomer when her family owned a veterinary hospital.

Karen found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the beauty of the world around her. She loved to travel and created treasured memories in places such as Paris, Aruba, and Boston, where she proudly attended her daughter Holly’s wedding. She longed to one day visit Hawaii, a dream that reflected her love for warm sunshine and ocean views. Karen especially cherished time spent living near the water and relaxing on the beaches of Florida.

Family was at the center of Karen’s life. She was the loving mother of Holly (Heather) Price, Jay Easterday, and Brian Boyd. She was a proud grandmother to Mark Kaijankoski, Londyn Slovacek, and Chloe Easterday, and she carried in her heart the memory of her late grandson, Jay Easterday Jr. Karen was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Anly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Cole.

She is survived by her dear siblings, Pamela (Todd) Winchester, David (Lana) Jacobs, Jef Jacobs, and Julie (Kyle) Brunk. Karen shared a particularly close and special bond with her sisters, a connection filled with love, laughter, and lifelong friendship.

Karen’s love extended to her loyal companions as well. She’s survived by her beloved chihuahua, Deisel, and her bird, Hugo. She was preceded in death by her cherished pets Lucy and Baby, who were dear to her heart as well.

Karen will be remembered for her calm presence, her love of family, her devotion to animals, and her appreciation for life’s quiet, beautiful moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
