Age 73. Beloved father of Angela (Cory Waite) Leonardo and Eric (Amie) Kuciban. Loving grandfather of Olivia Leonardo, Antonia Leonardo, Madeline Kuciban, Luke Kuciban, Philip Kuciban, and Nathanael Kuciban. Dearest son of Mária and the late László Kuciban. Dear brother of István (Margit) Kuciban, Marika (Dusan) Brhlik, and Magdi (Tamás) Mosonyi. Dear uncle of Gabriel (Stephanie) Ilko, Dusan (Ines) Brhlik, Melinda Kuciban, and Timea Kuciban.
Laci was born and raised in Czechoslovakia where he was educated as a metallurgist. Upon coming to the United States, he began his career in the steel industry and continued until his retirement in 2020. In his personal life, Laci loved his family above all. He was very proud of his Hungarian heritage and was a faithful parishioner of Holy Cross Hungarian Church. Laci had a passion for the outdoors and spent his time landscaping, skiing, golfing, and watching sunsets on Lido Beach. He also enjoyed cooking for his friends and family and was a master of many traditional Hungarian dishes. He was a gulyás champion and he had the awards to prove it. Laci had a great love of life and lived it to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all who held him dear.
Visitation Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John K. Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park. Rosary will be held at 2:30p.m. Instate Friday, May 6, 2022 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Hungarian Roman Catholic Church in Detroit. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. There will be a luncheon following the interment at Hungarian Rhapsody Restaurant in Southgate.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Holy Cross Hungarian Roman Catholic Church .
