Linda Mary Daniels

It is with great sorrow that I must announce the passing of my beloved Wife, and loving Mother & Grandmother, Linda Mary Daniels. 

We met during our high school days, having been introduced by my sister, Carol (Kettler). We attended different schools. We started dating in 1969 and joined in marriage in 1972.

After purchasing our first home in Brownstown, a small 3-bedroom brick for $19,000, Linda wished to be a mom and homemaker. So, she left her job at the Detroit Free Press to become the loving, kind, and understanding wife. Moving into Lincoln Park in 1975, we settled in with our first son as a family, We still reside there 51 years later. Here is where, during our 54-year marriage, she became the understanding, compassionate mom and grandmother that she was. 

She had a love of flower gardening which culminated with "her" yard becoming a "stop" on 3 of the first 4 Lincoln Park Garden tours. She enjoyed the antique hunt for her favorite horse statue (>2,000 at this time). She was the "mom" to her son's teenage friends. Their friends would come over and talk to Linda for 10-20 minutes before they would go out for the night. They did not do that anywhere else. She would listen and offer advice if asked for. She didn't judge. She may not agree. But she didn't judge. And she kept it confidential. 

Along with this, she had her little passions; General Hospital (over 50 years), Grade 'B' sci-fi & horror movies, and building and 8'x10' "Spooky Town" each Halloween on the back porch. 

She was completely dedicated to her granddaughters. She was always there to help, to talk, to cry, to offer advice (again) and comfort. However, she could be stern and let you know in no uncertain terms mom/grandma was not happy and you better "Wake up and smell the coffee" (Ann Landers). 

Linda is survived by her loving husband Richard, and devoted sons Richard Daniels (wife Ashley), and David Daniels (wife Kayla). Also, her equally loving granddaughters Skylar Daniels and Eevie Daniels. 

When Skylar and Eevie were small, they would tell Linda that they are "The Princess". 

Linda would answer "But I'm the Queen"!

So here is to the "Queen-of-the-Homeland"....May the Lord bless you and keep you, May the Lord's face shine upon you.

A Celebration of Life Memorial in honor of Linda will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Solosy Funeral Home, Lincoln Park.

Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026  10:00 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Lincoln Park.  .
