The family of Lola Jean Nandin is saddened to announce her passing on May 22, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on September 20, 1962, in Adrian, Michigan, Lola was the beloved daughter of the late Librado M. Rocha and Belia (Cantu) Rocha.
Lola was a woman full of personality, humor, and heart. Those who knew her best understood that with Lola, you never quite knew which version you were going to get — she could be your very best friend one moment and give you a hard time the next. That spirited nature was part of what made her unforgettable. Beneath it all was a woman who deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Krystal, Marisol, Vanessa, Michael, and Nadia; her cherished grandchildren, Roland, Karina, Maurillo, Jr., Logan, and Nicholas; and her siblings, Sylvia Lozoya, Roland Rocha, Raul Rocha, and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her brother, Librado Rocha Jr.
Lola worked for many years in housekeeping, carrying with her a strong work ethic and a caring spirit. Outside of work, she found happiness in the simple things that made a house feel like a home. She had a special love for gardening and caring for plants, especially her many houseplants. Lola truly believed plants thrived when spoken to kindly, and she often try to share plants with others because she wanted them to experience the same joy they brought her. Unknown to many, including even some of her own children, Lola once played the flute in her school band — a quiet little piece of her story that reflected the depth and uniqueness of who she was.
Though she could be feisty and outspoken, Lola’s love for her family was always present in her own unmistakable way. Her memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and moments shared by those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park with cremation taking place following the visitation.
Her family will forever cherish the memories of a life well lived and a woman who could never be forgotten.
