Martin V. Brogley Jr., a proud member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, a fourth-degree knight of the Knights of Columbus, Master Electrician, and resident of Allen Park, MI, went home to God and all the angels on January 13th, 2021.
Martin is survived by his wife, Anna Brogley (nee: Horvath); his children, Andrew (Kathleen) Brogley, William (Jennifer) Brogley, Carl (Victoria) Brogley, and Carol (Paul) Schmitt; his brother, Gerald (Joan) Brogley; his sister-in-law, Rita Brogley his grandchildren, Michele Brogley, Rachel (Eric) Styles, Paul (Sheila) Schmitt, Lauren (Greg) Stillings, Jessica (Nathan) Mode, William (Stacy) Brogley, and Eric (Destany) Brogley; his great grandchildren, Riley, Ethan, Evelyn, Raelynn, Claire, Evan, Rosie, Baby Mode, and Baby Stillings; and many other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Brogley; and his sister, Ethel Brogley.
Martin was born in Van Buren Township, MI on March 13, 1929 to Martin Brogley and Velma Szucs. On September 16th, 1947, he married Anna, his high school sweetheart. In the proceeding years together, they welcomed their children, and created a beautiful life and family. Martin was a caring husband, devoted father, loving grandfather, and an adoring Opa. He was an active member in his community, who cared deeply for all of those he came into contact with. He loved to spend time with his family, vacation in Northern Michigan, and serve as an active member of the Knights of Columbus and The Heritage Club.
Martin was a devout Roman Catholic who served loyally on the parish council and credit union. He enjoyed participating in church activities, including ushering and collection. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 16th at 11am at St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church, in Melvindale, MI. A viewing will be held in the vestibule of the church from 10am - 11am before mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Coast Guard Auxiliary or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
