Matthew Thomas Konieczny

The family of Matthew Thomas Konieczny is deeply saddened to announce his sudden passing on September 21, 2025, at the age of 56.

Matthew is survived by the love of his life and fiancée Amalia (Amy) Robertson. Together for more than 18 years, they built a bond grounded in laughter, loyalty, and family. Some of his favorite moments were the simple ones—coming home after a long day, relaxing with Amy, and sharing a beer together.

Born on October 18, 1968, Matthew was the beloved son of Florence Konieczny and the late Anthony Konieczny Sr. He grew up as the youngest of three children, cherished by his brother Anthony Konieczny Jr. and sister Kathleen Celeskey. Known for his humor and quick wit, he was the sibling who could always lighten the mood, and he carried that same gift throughout his life as a devoted uncle, great-uncle, and "Cha-Cha" to many.

Matthew was a hardworking and loyal employee of Sam's Club for over 20 years, where he wasn't just a team member but family. His coworkers affectionately called him "Bobby," and his absence will be deeply felt by all who worked alongside him.

He lived life with a joyful spirit and genuine love for others. He enjoyed family cookouts, watching the Detroit Lions, and making memories at Eastern Market with his mother and Amy. Known as the life of the party, Matthew had a way of bringing people together. His selflessness, humor, and loyalty made him someone everyone could depend on and laugh with.

He will be lovingly remembered by his many cousins, extended family, and friends including Kevin, Tammy, Roy, Rusty from work and Dee a childhood friend, along with countless others whose lives he touched.

Matthew's memory will live on in the stories told at family gatherings, in the traditions he loved, and in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM with a Funeral Service beginning at 7:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park.
