Mercedes Arias, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on September 25, 1948, in Mexico to Miguel Jimenez and Aniceta M. Marquez, Mercedes lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy.

Mercedes was the cherished wife of Ramiro O. Arias, her lifelong partner and soulmate. The two met as young children in school in Mexico, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. Their nearly 70-year bond was a testament to their enduring love, built on mutual respect, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to each other. Together, they built a life grounded in love and resilience, supporting each other through life's challenges and celebrating its many blessings.

A devoted and proud mother, Mercedes raised her children: Maria Elena, Sylvia, Maria G. (John), Maria D., Jose, and Ramiro (Deanna). Her greatest pride and joy were her 71 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mercedes was loving grandmother of Angelica, Gabby, Daniella, Maria, Patricia, Leticia, Leandro, Cecilia, Alicia, Melissa, Savannah, Ricardo, Joey, Ashley, Christina, Anthony, Christopher, Felicia, Ramiro, Joshua, Ray Ray, Angelisa, Johnny, Matt, Alexis, Vinny and great-grandmother of Hailey, Brandon, Amiyah, Nova, Jade, Alyvia, Jacob Jr, Frankie, Leandro Jr, Paola, Alina, Avianna, Lorencio, Hope, Gabriella, Luciana, Ezra, Kyle Jr, Aubrey, Richard Jr, Urijah, Mia, Jordan Jr, Baby girl, Luis Jr, Liam, Sergio, Mya, Damian, Mikey, Jaylene, Ramiro Jr, Alani, Raymond, Rayshawn, Aaliyah, Natalie, Noah, Alia, Gio, Jose Jr., Each of her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life — Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where laughter was shared freely, and everyone knew they were cherished. Mercedes found purpose in nurturing her family and treasured each moment spent with them, whether in celebration or in the quiet comfort of everyday life.

Mercedes was a woman of deep compassion and boundless generosity. Her selflessness was shown through her willingness to care for others, always placing the needs of her loved ones above her own. If someone needed help, she was there, ready to lend a hand or offer a comforting word. Her laughter could brighten any room, and her sense of humor could lighten the heaviest of hearts.

Beyond her role as a caretaker, Mercedes found joy in gardening, nurturing vibrant, colorful flowers that mirrored her own radiant personality. She loved to sew, creating beautiful, thoughtful pieces with her creative touch. Her talents extended beyond her hands; her warm spirit and joyful heart touched all who knew her.

Mercedes leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unity that will continue to inspire her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, living on in the memories and hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025  1:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Solosy Funeral Home.

Instate will continue the next day, Saturday, March 29, 2025  9:30 a.m. until time of service at Solosy Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Mercedes Arias, amada esposa, madre, abuela y bisabuela, falleció pacíficamente el 22 de marzo de 2025, a la edad de 76 años. Nacida el 25 de septiembre de 1948 en México, hija de Miguel Jiménez y Aniceta M. Márquez, Mercedes vivió una vida llena de amor, dedicación y alegría.

Mercedes fue la querida esposa de Ramiro O. Arias, su compañero de toda la vida y alma gemela. Se conocieron de niños en la escuela en México, y desde entonces fueron inseparables. Su vínculo de casi 70 años fue testimonio de su amor perdurable, cimentado en el respeto mutuo, la devoción y un compromiso inquebrantable. Juntos, construyeron una vida cimentada en el amor y la resiliencia, apoyándose mutuamente ante los desafíos de la vida y celebrando sus muchas bendiciones.

Mercedes, una madre devota y orgullosa, crio a sus hijos: María Elena, Sylvia, María G. (John), María D., José y Ramiro (Deanna). Su mayor orgullo y alegría fueron sus 71 nietos y bisnietos. Su amor por su familia era evidente en cada aspecto de su vida. Su hogar era un lugar cálido y acogedor, donde se compartían risas libremente y todos se sentían queridos. Mercedes encontraba un propósito en cuidar a su familia y atesoraba cada momento que pasaba con ellos, ya fuera en celebraciones o en la tranquila comodidad de la vida cotidiana.

Mercedes era una mujer de profunda compasión y generosidad sin límites. Su altruismo se manifestaba en su disposición a cuidar de los demás, priorizando siempre las necesidades de sus seres queridos por encima de las suyas. Si alguien necesitaba ayuda, ella estaba ahí, dispuesta a tender una mano o a ofrecer una palabra de consuelo. Su risa podía alegrar cualquier habitación, y su sentido del humor podía aliviar los corazones más apesadumbrados.

Más allá de su labor como cuidadora, Mercedes disfrutaba de la jardinería, cultivando flores vibrantes y coloridas que reflejaban su radiante personalidad. Le encantaba coser, creando piezas hermosas y elaboradas con su toque creativo. Su talento se extendía más allá de sus manos; su espíritu cálido y su corazón alegre conmovían a todos los que la conocían.

Mercedes deja un legado de amor, fortaleza y unidad que seguirá inspirando a su familia y amigos. La extrañaremos profundamente, pero jamás la olvidaremos; vivirá en la memoria y los corazones de quienes tuvieron la fortuna de conocerla.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 28 de marzo de 2025, de 1:00 - 8:00 p.m., en la Funeraria Solosy.

El velatorio continuará al día siguiente, sábado 29 de marzo de 2025, a las 9:30 a.m., hasta la hora del servicio en la Funeraria Solosy.

El servicio fúnebre comenzará a las 11:00 a.m.
